Music Session Volunteer
Music Session Volunteers work with facilitators to plan, run and evaluate accessible music sessions with people of all abilities. Music Alive hosts group and individual music making and listening sessions, drum circles, guitar workshops, singing groups and records and edits some of the sounds created.  Some volunteers are happy to remain as assistants to a music session but many previous volunteers have progressed to being able to run some activities independently. Music Alive has decades of experience in developing and training new music leaders.

We are keen to hear from volunteers who have a love of making and/or appreciating music. At Music Alive, you will get the opportunity to bring your commitment, compassion, energy and enthusiasm to make a real impact on the work we do. We are especially keen to hear from those with great people skills and who have the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people. If you can play an instrument and sing, that is even better (although by no means essential).

Communications Volunteer

Do you like finding out what people think and giving them information about musical things they could do? We want to improve how well we communicate with new and existing participants and collaborators and seek .

Resources and Facilities Volunteer
Our Resources and Facilities Volunteers support the management of our large collection of acoustic instruments and music technology. The management of these is very important for Music Alive and takes a significant amount of time and effort to keep in good working condition. We also own a good collection of manuscripts, tutor books and guides to music and music-making. We need help to ensure that our fantastic assets are well utilised to their full potential.

We would love to hear from you if you have practical or technical abilities that would help us to provide our music sessions. Ideally you will be keen to get stuck in, be self motivated and have great attention to detail.

Marketing/PR Volunteer
Our Marketing and PR Volunteers are involved in designing and maintaining content for Music Alive literature and the online promotion of Music Alive with the aim of recruiting volunteers, clients and supporters.

If you have relevant creative and technical abilities, coupled with a well organised and professional approach, please get in touch. The ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people and to have good attention to detail is essential for this activity.

Administration Volunteer
Our Administration Volunteer supports us with our essential fundraising, accounting and communications tasks. We use a combination of files stored on a server, bespoke contacts and fundraising databases and cloud based apps in an innovative way and we would love to have support in this area.

We would be particularly keen to hear from those who have good computer, literacy and numeracy skills with a great attention to detail. You will be a good communicator, both in person and in writing and will have a well organised, logical approach to your work.

Music Alive has a fantastic team of dedicated volunteers helping with all aspects of the running of the charity, from workshops and administration to fundraising. Volunteering with us is a great opportunity to learn, grow, have fun, gain training and enjoy making use of the excellent musical facilities we have to offer in a way that benefits disabled people.  We create opportunities with people of all abilities to develop, learn, be creative and make friends through music. Volunteers of all abilities willing to share their time & skills are needed to help us do this.
